Kodama Privacy Policy

Kodama is a one-word journal made by feelsrealco (Singapore). It is built so that we cannot read your journal — not "we promise not to," but "we never receive it."

Your words never leave your phone

• Everything you write is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage.
• Kodama has no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics on your writing, and no ads.
• We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your journal entries. We can't — the

app has no server to send them to.

• You can export all your entries or delete everything at any time from Settings.

Deleting the app deletes the data with it.

The one thing the app does send: crash reports

If Kodama crashes, an anonymous technical crash report (stack trace, device model, OS version) is sent to Sentry, our error-reporting service, so we can fix the bug. These reports are deliberately stripped: they contain no journal words, no typed text, no user identifier, and nothing that links a report to you. We do not use them for tracking or advertising, and no other analytics run in the app.

Notifications

If we ever add shared features

Any future social feature (like sharing your tree's shape with friends) will be optional, invite-only, and will never transmit your journal words — only abstract growth shapes. The words themselves stay on your phone, always.

The optional evening reminder is scheduled locally on your device. Its text is always generic — your words never appear in a notification.

App lock

If you enable app lock, Face ID / Touch ID checks happen entirely on your device through Apple's system APIs. Kodama never sees your biometric data.

Children and teens

Kodama is designed to be safe for teens: no accounts, no social features, no data collection, no ads. If a word suggests someone is struggling, the app shows support resources (e.g. helplines) — this happens on-device; nothing is reported anywhere.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare and boring.
